Basic Teleprompter has no account, no sign-in and no server. Your scripts and recordings stay on your device — we never receive them and cannot see them. The only data that ever leaves your phone is an anonymous crash report, and only if the app crashes.
Basic Teleprompter (“Application”) is published by The Playmakers (“Service Provider”) in Accra, Ghana, provided “as is”. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect. Contact: fritz.quaye@gmail.com.
Everything you create lives only on your phone:
None of this is uploaded anywhere. There is no cloud backup and no sync. Deleting the app removes its private copies; recordings already saved to your gallery remain until you delete them yourself.
The camera and microphone are used only while you are actively recording, and only to produce the video file you asked for. Nothing is streamed, transmitted or analysed. If you enable the Bluetooth microphone option, the app asks Android to route audio to your paired microphone during recording and releases it afterwards.
The app reads the device accelerometer to show the framing level guide, which tells you whether the phone is straight before you record. These readings are used on-device in real time and are never stored or transmitted.
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) sends us a diagnostic report so the fault can be fixed. Reports contain technical information such as device model, operating system version, and the point in the code where the crash occurred.
Crash reports never contain your scripts, your recordings, or any personal identifier. Google’s handling of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. This is the only third-party service the app uses.
The Application is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Because nothing is stored on our side, there is no account to delete and no data for us to erase. Deleting scripts or recordings inside the app, or uninstalling it, removes the app’s copies from your device. You can revoke camera and microphone permissions at any time in your device settings; the app will simply stop being able to record.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted in the app and the “Last updated” date above will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
